THE CLUES ARE ALL AROUND US
Barney & Robin .GIFs
those looks a lot like hints to me. Maybe I’m just imagining it, and looking too hard, but it sure does look like something the writers of this show would do — show us clues about the future, hide things in plain sight. That’s why I believe all those things were put in for a purpose.
from HIMYM episodes
- 2x22 Something Blue
- 4x24 The Leap
- 4x20 Mosbius Designs
- 6x01 Big Days
There’s the line from 2x22 about wedding clichees, and the Bible verse Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
And then there’s another Bible verse often associated with weddings that we see a quote from on the wall of the church where Barney;s wedding takes place. In episode 6x01. — Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Then there are the things we’ve heard/seen:
Robin “joking” about him & Barney getting married in a big church wedding…
Barney saying that maybe he’s met her… his future wife… already (on the backseat of a car)
Barney getting on one knee, being ready to propose to Robin just so that she wouldn’t have to leave, when her visa expired
Barney imagining him & Robin running towards each other in slow motion…
Barney using his “inner voice” and telling the truth when asking himself “Why don’t you marry Robin? Deep down you know you were never happier than when you were with her.”
Their friends, Marshall & Lily, thinking they’re kind of perfect for each other.
Barney thinking from the start (for three seconds) that they would make a lot of sense together. They like the same things, they think alike. And they’re both awesome.
Barney saying that the only “but…” about Robin is that she’s Canadian. But so is he! And deep down he loves Canada and Canadians. So that is gone…
There’s tons of more, but I’m tired, and need sleep. But wanted to post it already.
You’re all free to add your points.

Ted’s Best Man Speech For Barney’s Wedding
“Everyone, something that I’ve learned over the years is that true love is legendary. Sometimes you have to wait for it. “
Barney and Robin’s love story, and their love is legendary.

My speculation why Robin is the tie
WARNING; THIS REPLY CONTAINS HIMYM SPOILERS!
I am still pretty certain that Barney and Robin end up together, and that Robin is the mystery bride. My (tv viewing) logic just says so. Because I honestly don’t believe that any tv show (writers) would spend two whole seasons telling a story of how Barney got married, and make it so much about the Barney/Robin relationship, and then reveal that he actually marries a new girl. Someone whom he’s known only for a year before the wedding. I’m sorry, but Barney does not seem to me the type who gets married to someone whom he’s “just met” basically.
The shows previous history also supports “Robin is the bride” theory. They always break the couple up, and make it look like it’s the end, and everything is so sad, before they get back together and “live happily ever after”. Remember Marshall & Lily? And their summer apart? I’m seeing parallels between Lily following her dreams and the two of them having secrets from each other and all that, and the current Barney/Robin story line with Robin following her dreams and her career blossoming, and the two of them keeping secrets from each other…
TV writers (sadly) always use the same kind of tricks when writing a romance. There is always the one couple who is used as the will they-won’t they couple. On HIMYM that’s Barney/Robin. And it usually doesn’t work out at first, and things get really bad… before they get back good again. As much as I like that this show is very detail oriented and very good at continuity and all that, it’s still a TV show/story, and they still use the same tactics as others, so…
Now about the sneak peeks to Barney’s future wedding. I actually think that the pink dress Lily is wearing could very well be a bridesmaids dress.
Now about the wedding day. I think that just like Lily & Marshall’s wedding, there will be crazy stuff happening on this wedding day, too. And the “tie problem” is not the only issue the bridesmaids/best men have to solve. This could be supported by what Robin said about freaking out and needing the Best Man to get her/them all back on track, when she gets married and that’s why she needs Ted to be the Best Man. And perhaps no one knows that Ted is also Robin’s best man? ha-ha
If the bride is not Robin, but instead someone else (Quinn), then let’s first look at why would Lily be with the bride before she comes to the grooms room to ask the Best Man to go and see the bride? Sure, Lily’s look is “confusing” when she says that, but we don’t know the whole story yet. It all would be much more strange if the Bride is anyone else - why would Lily be there with her, and why would Ted react so calmly and go and see the bride, like “what now?”? To me all the behaviour still supports the idea that the Bride is someone they all know very well.
Sure, we don’t know the story of Quinn yet, but I still don’t believe that she’ll succeed in what no other girlfriend/boyfriend so far has — becoming the sixth member of the little group. And unless she is different than her character description makes her look like, I don’t think she’s a serious candidate for the Bride. Also considering the fact that we will find out the identity of the bride in only 10 episodes after the new character is introduced, even if the wedding takes place actually in the future.
The thing is… I believe that the writers and the show just needs to keep the audience guessing, and confused… until the very last minute. And that’s why everything is done the way it’s done. So many little things we’ve seen, and will see, are there only to confuse us. And keep us guessing. They need to make it look like the options are still there, when in fact there is only one option. Only one answer to the question “Who is the bride?”
To me the little clues: the ones that I’ve posted about, and the ones others have posted about (girl of my dreams/girl of your dreams, etc) are saying that Barney and Robin end up together.
After all — it’s Ted’s story. And he’s a romantic. So he tells the story from his perspective. And I don’t think he’d (the writers) spend so much time on little details about Barney/Robin story if in the end he’d end up together with the new-girl-in-town Quinn, and she’d focus on her career/meet someone else (no I don’t think the guy in the ugly shirt is returning as the actor is not available and they changed that story line and we got Kevin

What is in the box? HIMYM edition [SPOILERS]
What’s in the box? What’s in the box? What is in the box? What’s in the box?
My thoughts on the topic of “What’s in the box” regarding the HIMYM season 7 finale and the metal box Barney is trying to bring on an airplane.
These are purely random, and wild speculations and will most likely have nothing to do with what’s really in the box, and the actual storyline
TOP 5 THINGS “WHAT SHOULD ACTUALLY BE IN THE BOX” BARNEY HAS:
- It’s Robin Sparkles 4, y’all!: One more never heard of Robin Sparkles video from Robin Scherbatsky’s past.
- Stinson Productions Presents: Scherbatsky. Robin Scherbatsky.: Barney-Robin sex tape(s)/disc(s)
- Little black box: An engagement ring. Engraved. With the name Robin inside.
- Barney’s list: The list of all the women he’s slept with, and the scapbook he made.
- NOTHING: I’ll never tell. Any of you. I could tell you, but then I’d have to kill you. But the box is actually empty. That’s the magic trick. It’s all part of the master plan…

What IS in the box? What’s really in the box?
According to Joe Kelly, one of the writers:

btw, this is a totally different box [most likely]
One more thing though… I wonder if the metal briefcase from under Barney’s bed [mentioned in an earlier season] come into play here, and it’s a metal box actually???
